  • By M. C. Rohit

Every fire is not the same — and using the wrong extinguisher can make a situation worse. In this HSEdx micro-course, learners understand the Class of Fire concept and how fires are categorised based on the fuel involved. The course covers the most common fire classes — Class A (solids), Class B (liquids), Class C (gases), Class D (metals), Electrical fires, and Class K/F (cooking oils and fats) — with simple workplace examples. By the end, learners will be able to quickly identify the fire type and make safer first-response decisions, including selecting the correct extinguisher and avoiding unsafe actions.
